My First Enduro Coaching Experience—60 Women in Pemberton

April 27th will forever be marked as the day I officially stepped into the role of enduro coach for the first time. It happened right here in Pemberton, BC—a small mountain town with a big moto soul—during the second annual “Ladies Ride”, organized by the Pemberton Dirt Bike Association (PDBA) and the legendary Angelisa Edwards of BraapBabes.

We welcomed 60 women riders in a single day—my first official coaching experience, and what an incredible one it was! It opened a whole new side of this sport for me: sharing knowledge, building confidence, and lifting each other up on two wheels. And let’s just say… I’m hooked! Expect exciting new coaching services from Poire. Coming this fall.

Structured, Dynamic, and Empowering

The participants were split into four groups of fifteen, rotating between technical clinics and scenic trail rides.

Two groups started the morning in skills clinics:

The first group was led by Katie Hall (Lea), a professional AMA Hard Enduro rider, who shared her knowledge of advanced clutch techniques.

The other, coached by Julie Vachon, Lucia, and myself, focused on fundamental positioning, braking techniques, and fast cornering drills on a grass track under the power lines.

Meanwhile, the other two groups hit the trails with Magalie Larouche and Brittany Walker, two absolutely badass and inspiring women in the sport.

After 1.5 hours, groups rotated. We then all gathered for a well-earned lunch BBQ, hosted and served by the awesome folks at PDBA—a moment filled with laughs, stories, and that special feeling only a dirt bike event can deliver.

In the afternoon, those who started in the clinics hit the trails, and the trail riders came back to join us for their training sessions.

Sixty Helmets, Sixty Smiles

Throughout the day, you could see sixty smiles beaming through helmets, proof that this event sparked something real: joy, confidence, camaraderie, and pure throttle therapy.

Around 4:30 PM, we wrapped things up with a friendly prize giveaway, thanks to the generous donations from our sponsors. A whole spread of goodies was handed out, and nearly every rider went home with a little gift—and a big smile.

The second Ladies Ride in Pemberton was a massive success, and a turning point in my own journey as a rider and mentor. I’m excited for what’s ahead and grateful for every rider who showed up with heart and hustle.
