Introduction: More Than a Gear Kit—It’s an Attitude
Since the moment I traded my karate pads for moto armour back in 2002, I’ve learned one core truth: your gear can either slow you down… or launch you forward. In 2025, I finally got my hands on my very first carbon helmet. And boom—it was like I finally realized what I truly deserved. Since then? No looking back.
Here are my personal 2025 Leatt gear picks. From backyard enduro cross to the rugged peaks of British Columbia, this setup blends comfort, protection, performance, and—of course—style.

🧠 Helmet 9.5 Carbon + Neck Brace 6.5: One head, two armours
I fell in love with the Leatt 8.5 back in the day, but when I slipped on the 9.5 Carbon, it was a revelation. So light, it actually feels as if I’m flying (and sometimes… I kind of am). 😅 Once you try carbon, there’s just no going back.
I always pair it with the 6.5 Carbon neck brace for a flawless transition from head to chest. People ask, “Why still wear a neck brace in 2025?” Easy: I used to lose two weeks of riding a year due to severe neck lock-ups—until I found this combo. Since 2021? Zero issues. Coincidence? I think not.

💥 Raeflex Women’s Chest Protector: My Invisible Armour
After dealing with a split liver, bruised kidneys, and compressed lungs, I no longer take body protection lightly. The Reaflex Women’s chest protector is my go-to. Lightweight, fitted, and tough like a tank. I can breathe, move, kick my bike—then crash and get up like a warrior.

🦵 Golden Knees: The Knee Sleeves + Brace Combo
I wear top-of-the-line custom knee braces (shoutout to CTI!), but what truly elevates them are the Leatt sleeves with patella cups. They cover the velcro straps perfectly, so I can slide my pants on like butter. It saves me from swearing in the van after spending too long enjoying my coffee. 😜

🧘♀️ Gear Kits 5.5 & 4.5: The yoga of motocross
Yeah, I drank the Kool-Aid. I’m fully part of the Leatt 5.5 cult. I own five different colours, and I swear this gear feels like yoga leggings. The I.K.S. fabric is flexible, breathable, and moves with you—up climbs, across logs, or mid-air.
That said, I like having options depending on the weather. The 4.5 women-specific kit is a bit warmer, incredibly durable, and perfect for cold mornings that turn into sweaty afternoons.
On greasy, rainy days? I go full tactical with the Hydradri 4.5 pants and jacket combo. Yup, I’m picky. But I own it. 😎

🥾 5.5 vs. 4.5 Boots: My daily debate
The Leatt 5.5 boots offer insane grip. I can literally hug the bike with my feet. But for slower, more technical terrain, the 4.5s are softer and easier to move in—perfect for dabbing, pushing, or kicking the bike around.

🧤 Gloves Game: Grip + Comfort = Heaven
Depending on the ride, I rotate between:
- 1.5 Grip’r Lite—For backyard enduro cross, where breathability matters
- 3.5 Lite—For fast, tight trails and extra protection
- SubZero gloves — My cold-morning go-to… and my entire sled season glove. (Yep.)
As for MicronGrip? It’s basically black magic. The wetter it gets, the grippier it gets. Even with destroyed grips, I feel glued to the bars. It’s freaky—in the best way.
🧦 Extra Stuff I LOVE (and highly recommend):
- Leatt socks: Ultra comfy, quick drying, no bunching or friction
- Sunglasses: Stylish, light, and helmet compatible
- SlipOn’s 1.0 sandals: Made of cork—I’m just waiting for my size to live in them full-time
- Oh, and yes… Leatt makes condoms. Tested and approved. Either protect everything or protect nothing. 😏

🧷 Why Leatt?
Because I’ve tried it all. And they’re the only brand that’s stuck with me, season after season. When you push your body to the limit like I do, you need gear that performs. I don’t wear Leatt just because it looks cool (although… that too 😘)—I wear it because I haven’t been seriously injured since going full Leatt.
